Well, we have been back home from our Round OZ trip for a few months now, and I have been hanging to get back up into the Victorian hills to do some more hiking, exploring and of course trout fishing!

Easter Weekend was to be the date a few of us could all get off together, and we decided to head up to the Upper Murray River, also known as the Indi river. I haven’t fished the Murray before, but it has always been on my radar as a good backcountry river with heaps of really remote water to explore.

We left saturday afternoon and headed up the hwy towards Albury, then veering off towards corryong, then finally on to Tom Groggin. We decided to hike in to our starting point even though it was after dark when we got there. It was a beautiful balmy night with a full moon which made the hike in really nice and definately one to remember.

Our plan was to hike our way up the river over the next few days, see where we got to and just enjoy the fishing. Unfortunatley for us one of the crew came down with gastro on the saturday night after we had set up camp, and it ended up he could not move for or hike for a few days. So we ended up setting up camp on a nice grassy spot just above the river and used it as a bit of a home base instead.

Over the next few days we explored the river both upstream and downstream of where we were and enjoyed some great fishing and luckily great weather. We caught heaps of browns and rainbows on both our spinning gear and on fly, with some good size fish also being taken. The fish were not being picky luckily, taking small hard body lures and celtas readily, and most of the generic dry flies like the royal wulff, royal stimulator and geehi beetle worked just as well.

Unfortunately we didnt get to explore as much river as we would have liked, but it will definately be a river which I will go back to and do some more exploring, with absolutely beautiful bush and great scenery it is a must for all adventurers and fishermen.

Tight lines!

Compare all campervans, motorhomes and 4x4s www.privatefleet.com.au

Motorhome rentals Australia is a flourishing business activity. A motorhome is an assemblage of an engine and living quarters. They are available in different sizes and accommodate varying features to suit any budget and almost every travel requirement. It is roomier compared to a campervan; hence, it has no limitations to the baggage one can take on a journey. The features of www.getaboutoz.com/motorhome-hire benefit a person in more ways than one.

Motorhomes are perfect for families with young children. This is particularly so because of the flush toilet facility aboard motorhome vehicles. The youngsters will be busy occupied by the inbuilt entertainment systems, such as TV and DVD that are aboard the motorhome.

Motorhome Rental – The Pleasant Way to Experience the Country

One does not require packing and unpacking while in a motorhome like those travelling to a holiday resort. Everything you pack and carry within a motorhome is like carrying your baggage into another house. Motorhomes are adequately big to include additional gears, like a surfing board while travelling to a beach.

The comfort levels of a motorhome vary and are defined by your holiday budget. Modern motorhomes are supplied with a kitchen, bathroom, a double bed, television, sofas, tables, and more. Some contain extra storage spaces to hold sport and other recreational gears, like bicycles, skiing board, or surfing board. The best feature of a motorhome is the compactness of these vehicles that eases the tricky task of manoeuvring the vehicle anywhere.

The fridge along with freezer in a motorhome remains operative even after parking the vehicle; hence, eatables that you carry with you stay fresh for a long time. You can rent a motorhome for your weekend plans or if you prefer to experience a life on tour, then rent it for couple of months. With motorhome, you can decide to continue staying at a certain place if you feel like exploring the place a little more.

Moreover, if a person feels like moving on with the journey, it is just a matter of shutting the doors and driving out. When holidays involve extensive travelling, nothing is pleasing than having a good time on a comfortable sofa, with sufficient air conditioning, feasting your eyes on the views that pass by through the large windows.

A motorhome rental packs with it many good features that literally translate into adventure, freedom, and value for your money. The thrill of travelling in a motorhome has to be experienced with your family and friends. It will be a unique experience and you will never feel away from your home.

Well of the whole 6 month trip Cape Range National Park near Exmouth, WA would have to have been my favourite place to fish. With crystal clear water and a huge range of species willing to chomp on flies and lures the possibilities were endless.

Camping within Cape range is great, with it being right on the beaches which offer great fishing and snorkelling straight from camp, depending on which time of the year you go it can get very busy and can be hard to get a camp spot, so keep this in mind.

I fished both from the boat and land based and did not find one particularly better than the other, walking along these pristine white beaches sight casting to emperors, bream, permit etc was truly amazing.

While out past the shelter of the reef in the open water all the game and reef species can be caught that you would like if you have a slightly larger boat to handle larger swells. Inside the reef where I did all my fishing, I was catching spangled, grass and blueline emperor, Estuary cod, Permit, snub-nosed salmon, dart, trevally and more, all on fly and lure.

I mainly fly fished here but did also throw a few lures around when it was really windy, best fly I found was a white clouser in size 1. the emperor loved this! Also poppers were great fun with the emperor, but most plastics and hard bodies would not have a problem getting fish.

my most memeorable fish from this area was a 60cm spangled emperor which smashed my white clouser fly, it gave one hell of a fight taking me into the backing, luckily for me there was not too much reef around for him to run too.

If fishing from shore just remember to be persistent and clock up some km’s, the coast is always changing the further you walk, with rocky ledges and reef with emperor and cod in one spot only to find a beautiful sandy beach round the next bend with salmon, trevally and bonefish, so just enjoy the area and get out for a wander.

www.camperhire.com.au/motorhome widen your options that really have its benefits in a vacation – especially when traveling. From getting around places faster and in your own pace to saving up more money in the long run, renting a car puts a check mark on the positive side. So if this is the approach you’d want to go with then looking into rental cars is a great way to start off with.

Renting a car can be difficult if you’ll go door to door to get a proper deal. Since they know you’re a walk in costumer, chances are you won’t be getting that discount you so desperately need. But by doing the booking online then you’re not only guaranteed a faster way of getting a vehicle but also a cheaper, more affordable way.

So here’s how it technically works- you simply type in the pickup location of the vehicle you want, type down the drop off location, let them know when you need it and for how long, and before you know it, you got it all covered. Well, that must have sounded complicated so putting it in a short version, simply fill up the small form. It shouldn’t take you more than ten minutes. To see an example, click here.

Now checking out some of the cheap rental cars available online is also relatively easy. All you have to do is check out some of the variety vehicles they have offered for you, then chose a means on which you hope to pay them by. Do remember that having a vehicle in your disposal is not only a cheaper means of getting around, but also a much cheaper way to travel. So don’t dismiss this option just yet, why don’t you go online and find out which means of transportation your budget can support.

The best deals can be found online and in the website, just browse through it right now and find out why it is not only highly recommended but also trust worthy. So if you’re looking for a great deal on motorhome hire Australia without having to worry about too much technicalities, then you’ve come to the perfect place to start and enjoy the vacation you need!

Well after having a great time fishing Big River on our last trip, we decided to head back and fish the same stretch of water for some more lure fishing action.

The river was running slightly lower than last time and that made wading easier, but the weather was a bit cooler so we had to rug up to keep warm while fishing.

The fishing was good with us encountering good fish in the same sorts of places as the previous trip. Mainly brown trout were caught with the odd rainbow thrown in for fun. The same lures used last time were still doing the trick, with celta spinners, and ecogear sx40′s taking most of the fish. Check out the video of our good day out fishing Big River.
